Sustainability Governance

The Investore Board has resolved that responsibility for overseeing sustainability matters for Investore should remain with the whole Board, due to the smaller size of the Board and because sustainability considerations impact on all areas of the Investore business, particularly the strategic decisions that are the responsibility of the Board. The Investore Board Charter reflects the Board’s commitment to setting and monitoring Investore’s sustainability policy and integrating environmental and social principles into the governance of Investore.

While the Investore Board has primary responsibility for the governance of sustainability matters, Investore relies on its manager, Stride Investment Management Limited (SIML), to assist with the execution of Investore’s strategic sustainability initiatives. The SIML Board has established a Sustainability Committee to oversee sustainability activities within the Stride Property Group, and this Committee provides support and advice to the Investore Board.

Benchmarking our sustainability performance

Investore undertook the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessment for the first time in FY22. This assesses Investore’s overall sustainability performance against a peer group of companies in Australia and New Zealand. Investore is targeting 70 GRESB points for FY23, with the aim of being in the top quartile of comparator companies over time.

Understanding climate risks and opportunities

Investore is aware of the potential impact of climate change on its business and operations, and the need to consider the potential impact of climate risks and opportunities on its business strategy. Further information on Investore’s approach to climate risk can be found in its Sustainability Report.
